what you gonna do with your Christmas money?
I got some money from two different family members for Christmas this year. They generally do that so I planned ahead of what I was going to do with mine. I have a giant glass jar that I have been saving change in for the last year and I have told my children that when the jar is full we will go to Disney. So I have cashed in my $ into change and am adding it to "the Disney jar"

So how about you? What will you do with your Christmas money?Me: Heather

I was supposed to get Christmas money?

I wish, lol.
How nice of you to share your loot with your family.

Thank you Darlene!
But I can assure you its purely selfish reasons that I am "sharing" the money. I dream of the seeing the look on thier faces when they walk into the magic kingdom for the first time. That makes me happier than anything I could ever buy for "myself"

Gosh, so far I'm just having fun deciding
For one thing, I know I am going to get a cover for my Kindle Fire! And my bestie and I are going out thrift store shopping on Thursday and I think I'll treat her to lunch! We're going to Disney in April so I might put a few hundred aside for that, too.

My son opened his card from grandparents and said 'Wow! Dollars!'. Then told me go put it in his savings jar. I actually tried to convince him to put it in his spending jar and think about buying something with it, but he refused.
The apple doesn't fall far from the tree, I expect I will do the same.

Most of it went to help with Christmas foods that did not fit in the regular grocery budget.

I'm applying it to a dare I say it here...I'll whisper it...credit card. I paid off my cc last fall, but unfortunately had to use it for something and have to pay it off again. Well, at least I pay mine off! LOL!

This is the main reason cash beats a gift card anytime, IMO. You can spend it where it makes the most sense for you, not where someone else thinks you should spend it.
We're setting our Christmas cash aside for the deck project we're planning for spring. If we decide not to do that, then we'll apply it to our garden expansion instead.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

My mother gave me $300!!! I am going to put it toward my trip to Europe this summer. (Ooh, I sound so posh!) I have a friend who lives in England, who I haven't seen since she moved there over a decade ago. We lost touch and just recently found each other again, and she has invited me to visit this summer. With airfare and the possibility of road trips that require hotel stays (she mentioned visiting Paris), I am trying to put together at least $2500.

Our local Wegmans had a price freeze on some items til the end of this year. Their bulk packs of chicken breast and ground beef are cheaper than I can get them anywhere else per pound so my folks gave me a gift card to use there and also cash to spend on myself. May just put it all in the freezer before December 31st!

We are also taking a road trip but it will be in early spring (like April). We're going from here (NE Mont) to Napa, CA to see DH's aunt, then to Blythe, CA to see his bros, nieces, etc., then to Kingman, AZ to see DH's dad & then to Lincoln, MT to see my sister. May be able to talk him into stopping in Great Falls to see my sil & another stop to see my cousin, but will probably just want to get home to the critters. Oh, and the kids! We're planning on taking two weeks & I just spent 2 hours online mapping the trip out. I'll see how he likes it when he gets home tonight.
