Picked up some ornaments at RCSS for .44 per package. Grabbed a load of those and some snowflake ornaments for 1.24 (regular $5.00).

Found some wrapping paper at Zellers for 60% off and I would have waited to see if they came down any more but there was only a few left that I wanted (blue and snowflakes).

I'm determined this year to buy throughout the year instead of waiting until the last minute.

Got one large Lego set and three Lego minifigure boxes on clearance at Walmart for youngest ds. The minifigure box thingies have a clear front and individual compartments to put the minifigures in on display. The three boxes can be connected in various ways also like huge Legos. Very cool!

I picked up wrapping paper, and while at it ribbons and such to decorate, along with a few ornaments to go on packages for the young and broke Also bought lots of disposable baking things on clearance, like cupcake wrappers, quick bread bakers, windowed boxes, etc. for very little money. Made a lavendar bag for gift giving. Bought slippers for the hard to please Kathy, who has trouble finding footwear because her feet are so small, made one grocery bag and one dishcloth. Gift an average of 27 people each year, and need to be very tight on the budget for it this year!

I just finished up my youngest daughter in preparation of buying a house this year (praying that it works out!). I ordered the American Girl doll that she's been wanting- it's definately going to b a smaller Christmas this year IF we get the house, and prebuying her present should ease some burden of providing a decent Christmas to our kids (since I am done with her I can focus on getting something more decent for my oldest!).

Today I went to a HUGE yard sale at The Bowie Bay Sox Stadium, our minor league baseball team. I bought my dgs 48 matchbox cars with a case in excellent condition for $20.00, and a small bag in the shape of spiderman's head with 4 card games for $1.00.

Since yard sale season is just beginning I will be on the hunt for board games and crafts for my niece 7.

After reading this thread I want to watch Christmas Vacation.

    Way to go SS!!!

I picked up a neat set of ear buds for Ds's stocking last week. He can always use ear buds. I too will start watching at yard sales now that they are starting.

I want to be done before Halloween...and that includes stockings!

This is going to be the strangest Christmas ever since I will be staying home and not going island hopping. On't know what DH and DD are doing. Am not doing any more family stockings. Will be buying and sending gift cards to immediate family members.

So I really do not know what the holidays will bring, but I welcome the change for my peace of mind.

I picked up some cute little compacts for my daughters stockings. I am starting to focus on purchasing some larger gifts. We had bdays, so everything I have bought so far went to those.

Great deals Debbi! We went to Ollie's today and scoped out a few things. Might go back for the Paula Deen 5qt. cast iron casserole dish for $29.99. My mom and sister would love them. I am waiting for my Ollie's coupon in the mail.
