Storing Christmas decorations
For years I have used large plastic trash cans with lids to store my decorations, paper, etc. Everything stays clean, fresh, bug and varmint free. How do you store your holiday things?

I use totes. The fragile things are wrapped up.

I have three totes. One for just tree decorations and lights, one for Christmas decorations and one for outside decorations. It works well for me. The wrapping paper, bows, ribbons and tissue paper are stored in my gift closet with birthday wrapping paper.

I use plastic totes, and my ornament are stored inside in smaller gladware-ish containers. Wrapping paper and gift bags are filed away in an open tote with all other wrapping supplies that I use all year

I use the Rubbermaid Totes as well for the decor items - figurines, statutes, plushies, strands of lights, tree ornaments etc.
Under the bed storage tote box for all the gift bags, flat packs of wrapping paper (sheet style) rolls of ribbons, bows etc
Upright wrapping paper organizer for rolls of paper and the top lid portion has a section which you can store scissors, bows and tape if desired. Something similar to this:

All of these storage containers are kept in the garage until needed.
While looking for that image, I stumbled upon this creative way to organize ribbon (for those that do a lot of ribbon) Its pretty cool!

For years I used the boxes that copy paper came in (free from work). Over time I purchased plastic tubs when I found them on sale and replaced the copy paper boxes.

Libby, that is a neat way to do it! I don't have as much ribbon as she does. Just today, I organized my ribbon. I took a plain wire hanger, unwound the hook part so it opened, and slipped all the spools onto the long horizontal bar of the hanger, and then tied it closed with a bow (so I don't have to use pliers every time I want to add a spool). It so happens that my craft closet has a hanger bar, so hanging the ribbon there is also a space saver! It's not that impressive as I don't have much ribbon, but it works for me
Here it is:

As for my Christmas stuff, I put all the tree stuff (except the tree itself) into a smallish cardboard box, and repack the tree into its original box (it's plastic). All my decor stuff that's not tree related is borrowed from MIL so she gets to store it
