    Default Need Grab-Bag Gift Idea!

Okay, I need your creative help! Every year, with dh's brothers and sister and spouses, we do a Chinese Auction. We each pull a number from a hat and each bring a $15 grab bag gift. Whoever gets 1 goes first and chooses a gift. Then whoever gets 2 can either steal 1's gift or take a new one. Then 3 can steal 1 or 2, or take a new one. You get the drift. Anyway...we try to do creative theme gifts and I'm stumped. For my gift I'm theming it "date night." Inside is a bottle of wine (re-gift), a $5 Blockbuster gift cards (gotten from a trade of coupons and upcs), a box of microwave popcorn (free with coupons and a sale over the summer), and a pretty candle (re-gift). So, basically, my gift is free, but still of the $15 value. (They don't need to know.) However, we can't think of anything for dh to bring. Any ideas? (For this one, I don't actually mind spending the money if I have to since the other gift is essentially free.) I'd appreciate any and all ideas you may have!

gosh all i'm thinking of are pretty cliched gift sets..

    Stationary or bath stuff...

Stationary you could include a book of stamps too, to make it more valuable than just getting some paper and envelopes...

Bath stuff, I'm thinking a terry cloth headband to keep your hair away while you wash up, and facial mask...and other things like cotton balls and pumice bars or whatever to fill it a bit more..

I still have to get my inlaws their gift and I don't have a clue what... I got some idea's by thinking about what you could do

My hubby got a cool gift last year. Someone on his route (he's a mailman) gave him a nice commuter coffee mug and a $10 gift certificate to a local bagel shop. Yum!

Dh's family does this too, this year we played BINGO though.

*GC to the Auto Parts store
*Window washer fluid, nice gloves and and ice scraper
*Rolls of assorted tape, assorted screws and nails, screwdriver set to keep IN the HOUSE
*small cooler filled with can coolies
    *Scratch off or Pickle cards

That's all I can think of right now...

    Edited to add:

    *A big box of Gardetto's
    *Nacho or chili fixins

Thanks for the ideas! I went to Target this morning and found a nice bar set. Drink mixer, 6 martini stirrers, 6 wine tags and a corkscrew. I'm the only non-drinker in the group, and with my luck, I'll wind up with it. However, I've got the receipt, so I'll just exchange it for something I'd like!
