    Default Lovely for Christmas Presents?

I made this today for my Son's girlfriend and I plan to make some more.

I think they would make lovely Christmas Presents.

It is a Vanilla candle (I bought that) with a photograph of the two of them on it - but you could add whatever Picture you wanted.

    Cherubs would be nice.

That's really cool Bev....how did you get the picture on the candle?

You tape a piece of SMOOTH (that's important, I found out to my peril LOL) tissue paper to some cardstock and print your picture (whatever you choose) out on that.

Then cut around the tissue as close as possible and smooth it onto the candle - heat with the tool used for embossing (I guess you could use something else but I haven't tried) moving back and forth over the picture until the picture sort of disolves into the candle.

Somebody told me tracing paper was easier to use but I haven't tried that either?

I have a link somewhere if you would like it but I can't find it at the moment

    Awww Thanks everyone!

I really liked this idea too - especially with the photos because then it is such a unique present - it could also be for a wedding or new baby etc.

I have made one with clipart and it looked nice but I just thought the photo was more personal - and you get loads of Brownie points - it's impressive LOL.

Not often I actually do something impressive

I bet I know what Robin and Lori are getting for Christmas this year LOL

It's late and maybe I forgot that I already read this from the link you provided, but....
Is this goof proof? I picture me heating the tissue and it having wrinkles and creases and melted wax dripping. Is it super simple or does it take a bit of patience? Does it blend in really easily?

I used to make gift baskets with shrink wrap and would goof often and did it professionally. lol

Sara - I made one LOL - need I say more?

Seriously (oh I was serious lol) I had some trouble printing on the tissue paper - I found it worked much better (probably obvious) when it was smooth, but it did smudge alot and I found it was just hit and miss whether it smudged or not

Somebody told me it smudges less on tracing paper - but I haven't tried that yet?

You do have to be careful with the heat gun but I kept smoothing it over as I went with my finger and I didn't think that bit was hard.

My main difficulty was the printing.
