Decorating your stairway for Christmas
I love the look of a decorated open stairway. Ours is closed going up the stairs but has the bannister and rails at the top to look over:

Ours is closed as well, but I do have a bit at the bottom that isn't. I just might add some garland there this year. Thanks Heather.

I love a decorated staircase, but we don't have but one level to our house so we don't have a staircase to decorate.

The bottom 8 ft of ours , plus the landing, is open on one side, second side has 2 stained glass windows. At christmas I do green pine garland with big navy blue velvet ribbon going through it. I do giant bows made of the ribbon every 3 feet and silver ornaments tucked in throughout it. Some years I do white lights, others I don't.
