Need Help with Ideas...for Christmas
Hi all!
I'm on a super limited budget this year so I'm making all of my Christmas gifts. I'm taking white paper chinese takeout containers and decorating them with ribbon and glitter. Then I want to fill them with baked goods but I'm having trouble coming up with frugal recipes. So far my ideas are:
Almond Bark - this one's not so cheap as Almonds are expensive
Mini Cookies - this one seems pretty cheap
Dipped Fruit
Chocolate covered Oreos.
Does anyone else have ideas/recipes on things that would be cute gifts in my chinese containers?
Thanks!

This is pretty much my yearly line-up....I make mini homemade peanut butter cups each year - they are usually a big hit...pretty easy, fairly cheap too......ummmm - those Danish Wedding Cookies/Russian Tea Cakes - they are sinfully delicious and easy & cheap.......I also have a recipe for "Cherry Coconut Chewies" that are good.......mini cheescakes.....
If you need any specific recipes, feel free to PM or email me!! ClassEdMom@earthlink.net

We do smoked roasted almonds (but then we were given the almonds, so this is really cheap for us to make), peanut brittle, carmel corn, rice crispy treats with Christmas colored sprinkles on them, brownies, mini muffins, etc.. Hope this gives you a few more ideas!!!

Peppermint bark is cheaper than almond--- melted white chocolate with crushed peppermint candy (candy canes) in it-- it's one of my favorite Christmas candies!

And what about chocolate dipped spoons to dip into their coffee?

If you can get boxes of fortune cookies cheap.......
( I made these for Robin (mrscornbread) when she visited)
Carefully slice open the back of the fortune cookie package, slice it inside the folded area.. remove the cookie and carefully remove the paper fortune without breaking the cookie..... Make your own personalized fortunes on your computer... cut and slide back into the cookie.put the cookie back in wrapper... carefully glue the seam on the package....... These would be cute in a take out box with a Chinese symbol drawn or pasted on the box.....
