Default Do you or your spouse get a Christmas bonus?

When I worked I got a turkey, overtime, and an extra week's salary as a bonus. I also could make gifts at cost.

Gabe has received gc's to the mall in the past too.

I don't think he'll receive any type of bonus this year, but he is on call as a favor for a co-worker so will make an extra $100 the week of Dec 15.

Anyone else receive any type of bonus during the holiday season?

When business was good and I was working full time, I would get an extra check - usually equal to 2 weeks pay. However, I've been on part-time for about a year and a half now, due to business being slow, so I will probably not get one this year. I really loved it when I did get one.

I usually get a small bonus. Beginning last year, dh gets his bonus in June, instead of December. He does usually get a gc to WalMart or Sam's Club and the company hosts a lavish Christmas party. At the risk of sounding like Scrooge, I had rather they give money, instead of the party. The highlight of year before last's party was when a drunken fight erupted between co-workers. One of the guys had to have over a dozen stitches in his head. Dh and I no longer drink and being sober around a bunch of drunks is not fun!

My DH is very blessed to work for his friend who has a generous and giving heart. Hubby is a carpenter and last year his boss bought him a very nice and expensive circular saw for use at home. This year he paid for our half of the cost to process the deer they got together hunting, got DH a quilted Carhart vest with the company name on it and has made arrangements to get our little car fixed and pay for the repairs upfront (DH will pay him back in monthly payments). That man is truely an . His family and ours are very close and consider each other family. We are always there for each other through thick and thin!

We get a turkey at work and we are paid holiday pay if we have to work on Christmas. We are also given a beautiful Christmas Tea as our party. It is held at the hospital and is done with delicious foods and soft lighting and music and is done so tastefully. We all look forward to it each year.

I don't think that DH will get a bonus, he works for a small company and they do give them the day after the holiday off with pay but they don't get a bonus per say.

I don't remember if dh gets a bonus or not. I think that the $15 ShopRite gift certificate was the bonus for the holiday season. That really came in handy and was much appreciated. I know I definitely don't get any sort of bonus whatsoever as a teacher.

Debbie, how wonderful for your dh to have such a caring boss!

I get a turkey and we have a holiday potluck (as public employees, we can't use public funds for a party!). Dh usually gets a bonus. I hope it shows up soon! DH's boss usually takes everyone out for dinner at a nice restaurant too.

Supposedly he'll receive and end-of-the-year-bonus, but I will believe it when I see it.

Now that dh is retired we won't be getting a bonus, but he used to the end of every year. It was a percentage of how many years he had in.

I will get a bonus this year....a week's pay. I'll be getting it next week. Some ladies at my work are disappointed with this....I'm so thankful!! It will come in handy! Malcom doesn't get one since he is in the Navy.

Dh used to get a Christmas bonus of about $1000 in Walmart Gift Cards. The company has changed and we don't get any sort of bonus anymore. I'm a stay at home mom, I get my bonuses in hugs

I usually get a $25 gc to Walmart.

DH used to get $250 bonus, but they cut it out and now only give them a $15 gc to Walmart and a turkey. They also have a big Christmas party where the children are invited and "Santa" delivers toys are gc from blockbusters to them.

In the past, dh has gotten a bonus equivalent to one week's pay. This year however, the company restructured and dh receives incentive bonuses based on work done. These are to be paid out quarterly and will supposedly equal out to about what his bonus was. Anyway, he received one of these checks in Oct., and if all of them are as good as this one, he'll end up with 1-1/2 times what he used to get. Unfortunately, we could use the $ now and likely won't get it until Jan.

In my previous job, I got a $100 bonus plus the company threw a huge (fun!) christmas party. My current employer doesn't do bonuses, but they do have a party. I didn't find out about it until too late last year, but am planning to try to go this year.
