what can i do with these?
ok, i have several quart jars that i'd like to make into something to give out as small gifts. (like one to mil, madison's teacher, sil, my 2 sisters, mom, even fil?)
so, please give me your best ideas for QUART sized jars. i can't spend a lot of money though as these are sorta last minute things that we hadn't planned on.
(the package says 1/2 pint. that is quart sized, right???)

thanks girls.

You could do hot cocoa mixes--different flavors, or flavored coffee creamers. I'll look for specific recipes in a second.

These are the small jars aren't they? Quart jars are i think 2 pints, but my mind has never worked on measurments!
I made one for mil one year with rose sugar in it. I found the idea online someplace. This was oh, 4 years ago or so, You layers sugar (tinted with food color to show off the rose petals, ie light pink for dark pink or red etc.) and rose petals. At the time I had about 10 rose bushes in my yard and I knew the petals were chemical free. It was very pretty but i did not get the idea she liked it. I made a basket of this sugar and tea things.

French Vanilla Cocoa Mix
This is for pint sized jars, but you could either halve the recipe or just mix it up and put less in each jar

1/2 gal. Epsom salts
food coloring
scent (vanilla, almond, peppermint extract, your favorite perfume or essential oil)
In a bowl, mix salts, favorite color, and scent. Mixe well and place in a pretty jar with ribbon. Use 1/2 c. per bath.

Here are the gifts in a jar links I've saved. I didn't go through them again to see if they are still active, so sorry if some links are broken. Maybe you'll find something here that will work for the smaller jars.

thanks so much everyone for your ideas. i decided to go with something i saw in my gooseberry patch christmas book. it is a "chocolate cake in a jar." it turned out soooo yummy. i had to taste one first before i made all of them.
the recipe calls for applesauce and WOW is it moist and yummy.
as soon as i decorate the jars, i'll post a picture of them.
anyway, thanks again.....you all are the absolute best.
