luminarias
When I lived in NM luminarias were the popular Christmas light decoration for outside. I just loved how Old Towne looked in Albuquerque at Christmas.
I don't see anyone using them here in MI, but thought canning jar luminarias would be a neat thing to do.

Basically, like the link above, but not so decorative for the outdoors.

I love the luminarias too. We have an older neighborhood in a nearby town that does a luminaria display throughout the entire neighborhood for one weekend in December, they line all the curbs and drives and sidewalks with them and it is so lovely to look at.

i LOVE luminaries too. we don't do them, but i'd love to. i have tons of mason jars and tea light candles. we also have a sand pile.......sooooo, i should do some.
