Do you have breakfast before you open your gifts on Christmas morning?
I always tease the kids we need to eat first, but we always open our gifts first thing and then eat.
How about you?

When my mom and dad were still together we would get up on Christmas morning and see what Santa left us and the open up our gifts. After that we would go to my grandmothers (dad's mom) and eat a HUGE breakfast with her and then open gifts there. Since she passed away in 2000, I've never really eaten breakfast on Christmas morning. (At least not a big one like she fixed.)

No breakfast first. I have coffee on for Gabe and I. I try to have muffins, donuts, fruit or something handy because it takes me awhile to cook breakfast afterwards. One year, I did a breakfast casserole and that was nice.
There'll definitely be a bit too much excitement this year to even think of breakfast first. lolIf you'd like to help support Frugal Living by Sara Noel, my syndicated column, e-mail, write, or call the managing editor at your local newspaper and ask them to publish it in print or online. I usually have hot cocoa and date nut and cranberry bread for us to eat.
I drink my cocoa and have a slice of bread while they're opening gifts.
Then I make them breakfast after they're done (which they really don't want to eat because they want to play with their toys LOL)

The children open their gifts first!
We couldn't make them eat, even if we wanted! lol They are usually so excited!
We usually make homemade waffles after for them...
I like your idea, Melissa, to fill their socks with nuts, fruit and maybe a candy bar or 2...it could give a small break...we could relax with a coffee and muffin, instead of making all those waffles!

We eat first, otherwise dh would starve
He has to have his meals on a regular schedule or he gets a tummy ache and then gets growly (I don't call him "Bear" for nothing, lol. Actually he's also kind of cuddly

Since its just us two, we usually get up, let the dogs out, feed them, make coffee, turn on the tree lights, make breakfast and eat it in bed...its a wonderful, romantic time just for us...then we go and open our gifts

You go Jayne!!
We let the kiddos eat whatever is in their stockings -- nuts, fruit, candy, matchbox cars, whatever!!
They also always get a toothbrush in their stocking......in fact, just yesterday, Will asked me if we had gotten his candy & toothbrush yet!!
This year, I want to have doughnuts & muffins at the ready - since *all* the kiddos are getting older, they're at a point now where they just don't want breakfast every single morning - which is fine with me - let them snack their morning away on Christmas & we'll have a big dinner early that day - then go shopping!! (yes, some stores are open here on Christmas Day!!)

We're not big breakfast eaters, anyway. I like the muffin idea. I think I'll have some muffins and some fruit ready for when they decide they want to eat.

Our tradition is:
* stockings/Santa gifts first ,
*then.. breakfast-buffet style which is something hot - (overnight or crockpot egg dish this year), croissants/cranberry bread, fruit salad or fruit plate, cheese, and mimosas ...and coffee
*then tree gifts
