    Question What do you do.........

    with the presents that you do not like??

    Do you exchange them? Keep them anyway? Give them to someone else?

    It depends.....if it has a gift receipt and I won't risk hurting anyone's feelings (like if they will never know) I exchange it. If it doesn't have a receipt and they won't know I might re-gift it. I really don't ever want to hurt anyone's feelings with what I do with a gift given to me.

    I agree, I usually regift them, but not to someone who has contact with the original giver!

    I"ve done all three.

    Most of the time I may exchange it, if I have a receipt, or sometimes I will keep it and think that I may one day use it. If I don't think they will ever know then I may regift it.

    I am the re-gift queen!!

    Last year though, we gave my MIL some really nice socks (she's a sock fiend!) but she didn't like them and casually handed them to GW while they were alone & whispered, "don't let Tommy know, but take these home to Debbie, they look more like her style..." She was so embarassed when he told her that *we* had bought her the socks & not BIL & his wife!!

    If I can exchange it, I do, but if not, it goes in a closet somewhere and will probably end up in a yard sale sometime.

    I'm a re-gifter and a yard-saler. I wind up with lots of little knick-knacky items from my students for Christmas and the end of the year, and they almost all get sold at a garage sale. It's not that I don't appreciate the thought...I really do...I just don't have space. Gifts from family, I wind up keeping it and bearing with it for a few years. If it's from dh, I keep it and use it no matter what because I really don't want to hurt his feelings ever.

    I generally put it in a closet and forget about it, when i find it again, by then I usually need the item! LOL
