Is anybody hitting the after Christmas Sales today?
My kids are just dying to use their Christmas money and walmart gift cards today. They even got up early, did their chores and have not been fighting.
I'm thinking I may have to run them in.

I went to Walmart, Walgreens, Dollar Store and Foley's already this morning. I didn't spend no extra money. I made exchanges at Wal-mart and picked up some gift boxes that were 50% off. Other than that, it was all exhanges at Wal-mart. At Walgreens I picked up some sale items from their ad and some holiday candy that was marked 50% off and I had coupons for it. I used my gift card from rebates, so no money spent there! At Foley's they had a $10 off any sale or clearanced item in the paper yesterday, so I went and picked up to shirts that were on sale 2/$10!
I can wear them to work. That is all I got from Foley's and at the Dollar Store, we had to exchange a game that Dakota received, but already had. He ended up with a GI Joe figure. It was traded for the same amount, so no money spent there either.
I was expecting major crowds, but there was none. I walked right into WM and did my exchanges and walked right out. Same with the other stores. I was shocked. I really thought more people would be out.
At least I am done with exchanges.~*Michelle*~

I got several gift bags, candy that doesn't look Christmasy, gifts for a family party we have yet this Sunday night, darling winter socks for dd and the iworship Christmas cd. I don't have my receipts handy, but dh thought I did really well!

I think I'm going to try to wait. I know Target will start putting Christmas things at 75% next week, so I'll wait...if I can!

All I did today was run to wally for yarn and a replacemnt candy thermometer. I don't want to fight the crowds. Maybe this weekend i might make it to the sales.

Gabe went to the store and said it was a mob scene. I have no desire to be out and about. Target already started clearancing some toys before Christmas and I didn't see a thing I was interested in.
As much as I love the deals...I can't stand the crowds. If you'd like to help support Frugal Living by Sara Noel, my syndicated column, e-mail, write, or call the managing editor at your local newspaper and ask them to publish it in print or online. Well, the kids and I survived our trip into town. The stores were no where near as crowded as they were before Christmas. That really surprised me.
First stop was Walmart. Chris and I snagged the last 2 multicolored outdoor Christmas trees at $20 each. I had a gift card for $50 from Walmart so I used that to lay for mine along with wrapping paper, tissue paper, Christmas cards, candy, some Christmas rugs ($1 each) and a 3 piece non stick roasting pan set for $6.00 (a much needed purchase and I got it for 1/2 price). I also got 2 packs of Glade air freshener for .92. The boys bought CD's, gloves, 2 watches and batteries.
Next stop was the mall. Jaysn got 2 cd's at the Christian Gift center. I bought some lotions at Bath and Body works that Jeff forgot to get me for my stocking (that's ok I got it at 1/2 price today). I also bought a beautiful sweater that I had been eyeing for months at another store and was able to get it for $16.00 marked down for $39.00.
Last stop for shopping, the grocery store. I found packages of Carl Budding meats for .29 each and bought out all the pastrami and ham they had. I also found packs of turkey ham (5@$1 each), 2 tomatoes and a cucumber for .39, 2 cartons of ricotta cheese and a package of won ton wrappers. All that for under $19.00 and that filled 3 big plastic bags (most of ti was the lunch meat). Hubby is set for lunches for months with all the lunchmeat I got him and now have in the freezer.
