Lucie I've never read this but have heard lots of wonderful comments on it. One that I'd read if I could find it at the library.

I read it a couple of years ago, and found some helpful suggestions, but because my kids were older, I would not consider purchasing the book.

Basically it tells you to unplug the tv from Oct-Dec. Spend more family time together, and replace "buying" with gift giving. Of course that is waaaaay over simplified from the book, but you get the idea.

It hearkens back to a simpler time, and kids don't need tons of money spent on them...better to create family traditions, which they will remember long after the latest toy is collecting dust under their bed.
