Arrow Creativity with gift baskets for kids

How often do we make gift baskets for adults and never think of gift baskets for kids. Let your creativity flow and see what you can come up with when it comes to baskets for kids.

    Here are a few:

~doctor/nurse kit - you can pick up a cheap stethascope if you really look. You always see nursing outfits and at times doctor's jackets at thrift stores. You can put in a watch, a book on our body. Be creative and add more.

~teacher's kit - books, chalk, blackboard, pens, notepads, scribblers can be added here.

~music kit - classis tapes/cd's (our son surprised us when he loved the classics), opera music. You can pick up music books often at thrift stores that schools have gotten rid of. How about a baton so they can pretend they are a conductor.

~sewing kit - needle & thread, a bit of material, wool, scissors (age appropriate), pin cushion

~baking kit - rolling pin, a few odds and ends of baking pans (you can find them at thrift stores) or you can even purchase a few small ones. Keep an empty container of spices, salt box and baking soda container.

~art kit - pencils, crayons, paints, papers, art easel, glue stick and scissors (again age appropriate)

~book kit - paper and pencils where they can write their own story. Cut out some cute pictures from magazines and place in a plastic bag so they can use these for their books they are going to create. A glue stick.

~tool kit - pliers, hammer, blocks of wood, nails (age appropriate), screw driver. You can also put in a few woodworking books that you often find at thrift stores or yard sales.

~creative kit - beads, lace, string.

The thing with kits for kids is you want them to use their creativity and imagination. So often nowadays, kids don't use their imaginations. There is nothing more wonderful to see kid's use their imaginations and be creative. Its wonderful to watch and the joy on their faces is beautiful. Our kids have spent hours being creative and its one thing we continue to encourage them to do.

Let your imagination run wild when you make up kids baskets. Have fun!!

Dress up box-- shop thrift stores and garage sales for bridesmaid's dresses and wedding dresses, purses, shoes, hats, gloves.

For boys look for work shirts, tool belts, hats, work gloves and so on.
