Default do you have a Christmas Village?

The kids and I built ours. My Ex MIL has the big studio 52 (or whatever one) but they are so expensive so the kids and I found these tiny little plaster village pieces that you paint yourself at Michaels. We paint a few every year and add to our papermache base to hold the new pieces. Last year we added a light house anda coast line with little rocks and seaguls. It is lit up with train lights and string lights (for each house) There are 23 buildings right now. Yesterday I found a High school and a soda shoppe ( ours is a 50's time period ) with a 1950's style train (HO size). If you have one could you post a pic for ideas for the rest of us!

I am slowly building one. My MIL gets me a piece every Christmas-- they're various brands, but all the same size. I think I have five or six buildings now. I displayed them on a shelf in my livingroom, but I'm not sure where they'll go in the new house.

We have a permanent display for them to sit on - cobbed together out of an old table. When we store it we lever it up to the ceiling all covered in plastic ( the legs detach from the table.)

I don't have one yet. My mom and aunt have them and I want to start putting one together for myself.

I have several little houses and pieces to put together as a Christmas village but I didn't spend a fortune on them. My MIL collected beautiful things and now my SIL has them and she doesn't even put them out!

We have one that my Mom made for us one year. It's even got a stable for the reindeer complete with Rudolph and his shiny red nose sticking out!

I could never see myself spending real money on something like the village, so two years ago I went to the Dollar Tree and bought their version for a dollar a piece... I love it now I am finding the accesories- people, hedges, trees lights that light up I even have a battery powered train that came from the Dollar tree.. I just love my village..

This is an older picture of ours - you can tell it was inexpensive but the kids and I really enjoy adding to it every year!

Thank you for posting that photo. I think that I want my DH to make me something similar for my little village...
