    Default homemade christmas presents

As I am getting ready to send out my ornaments for the christams ornament exchange I am thinking are these ornaments okay? Will people like them? Should I make something else instead?

So my question is do you look at what you make and think those thoughts and worry of the person you are giving a homemade ornament too will like it? Or am I the only one nervosu about making and giving home made gifts.

Oh Eileen, don't you worry one iota about those ornaments. I always look at it this way - its the thought that counts.

Not everything I make is perfect and probably a few of my gifts people don't like, but I've gotten to a point in my life where I give it and if they don't like it, they can do what they want with it.

I love homemade gifts. I always remember the little gifts my older kids made when they were in K - Gr. 4 and although never perfect, they were made with love. That how I look at homemade gifts that are given to me - they are made in love and I far rather would have one made thats not perfect than have one thats bought.

btw - can't wait to see your ornaments.

I'm definitely a worrier!! This is my first year experimenting with homemade gifts for Christmas. I'll be giving some to my family as well as my boyfriend's family. I'm not worried about what my family will say, but more so about my boyfriend's sisters. I just hope that everything turns out all right and that they enjoy the gifts. I would hate for them to think it's junk and toss it out.

Oh I am a worry wart myself, I happen to be a cross sticher and as all cross stichers know, hours and hours of our time can be given in one gift. My mother crafted and appreciated nothing hand made, when people gave her hand crafted items, well sometimes they would end up in a drawer. (later to be snatched up by me)
I happen to love hand crafts so when I started giving them to people as gifts, I was pretty stingy with them. But guess what happened? Requests and how did you make that? along with how is that she rated and I didn't? In my book, crafts are not only given with love, but they are the givers giving part of themselves. Most people love to receive such gifts, and for those who stuff them in a drawer, the heck with them. So don't worry get ready to enjoy all the oohs and ahhs and sit back and enjoy the holidays.

    Eileen,

Don't worry, your recipients will love your ornaments! We make most of our gifts too and people love handmade things! Plus you get such a wonderful satisfaction of making things and not standing in lines at the mall or in traffic! Nobody needs that stress in their life! So just take your time, put on some Christmas music, make something yummy in the crockpot and have a great time making your gifts!

Eileen, just go with the flow. I love receiving homemade things. It's much better to have something that someone has made that is individual and not identical to a million others sold in the stores. Giving and generosity is part of the homemade experience. Learn to enjoy it for what it is and know that most of what you give will be loved and appreciated.

I worry too....and even if someone tells me they love it, I then worry that they are telling me that so as not to hurt my feelings!

Do yourself a favor - just don't sweat the small stuff!!
