Question Would you send religious Christmas cards to non-religious friends?

I do.  I know it's probably not politically correct, but to me, Christmas should have religion in it.  I always think of an article I read a long time ago by a retired priest who was so disappointed to receive generic "happy holidays" cards all the time, with rarely a mention of Christmas itself, let alone the birth of Christ.   It seems to me that our cards are the last place we can send gentle reminders to our friends & loved ones about the real meaning of the season.

Oh, and for the record, I don't have anyone on my list who practices a non-Christian religion-- I might feel differently if a friend was, say, Jewish or Buddist or whatever.  One friend's wife is wiccan, but, he's Christian and they do celebrate Christmas in their home, so do I send them a card just like anyone else.

If I was religious I would = I expect my religious friends to - you pick out cards as a personal expression of you for the holidays - it is your holiday too and your chance to share what you believe.... Now if I was picking out a gift for someone - I would cater it to them - but a card is simply "my way of greeting you "

Ever since my first Christmas with DH we have always sent out Christmas cards, but they have always said something like, "Hoping the holidays find you happy.." or something mentioning the holidays and not a specific denomination....Just my two cents....

I only send religious cards if I know the people concerned are religious.

I think it all depneds, do you go and pick each card seperate or do you get a box of cards to send out?
I usually pick out cards that I like and not sorry if someone else likes it or not, I am not worried about being politically correct.......

I send the same card to everyone but my husbands grandparents on his mothers side since they are jewish.

I'm tired (ie:fed up) of all the politically correct bologna (ie: ).

Send whatever card you want Amy. Your friends & family will be glad you were thinking of them as you wrote.

Funny you should ask. I was debating that very question last evening as I was addressing cards. I have an atheist friend and all I have are religious cards. (with scripture) I still haven't decided what to do.

Yes! I pick out the cards I like and that's what the recipients get.

No I don't. I pick out a special card for my mil which is usually religious but everyone else gets just a greeting card.

It's boxed cards here, too-- everyone gets the same card, or no card at all!

I'm an athiest and I don't like getting religious cards. Mind you I don't jump up and down about it, I just think that the person who sent it doesn't know me very well, so why send a card. KWIM?

I've stopped sending cards at christmas. I attach a card that I make to the gifts I give and that's all I do now.

    I agree with Darlene.

I'm sorry, but I won't be politically correct for anyone when it comes to my faith. If others can't accept that, so be it. For those who don't have the same faith or want to be politically correct, I accept that of them, so I would hope they would do the same for me.

Although I don't send out Christmas cards anymore, if I did I would definitely send out religious cards and without any regrets.
