Its almost Christmas!!!
I am so excited I just almost can't stand myself - 1 week til Christmas festivities - I just love Christmas!! The presents are almost all wrapped and the candy for the stockings is reasonably unscathed - weezils love candy and Ryan let them out before I got all the candy put up high so we have a few headless santas and some missing bells, kisses, and peanut butter cups plus I need to buy one more candy cane
. I am just giddy with excitement!! I think the kids will really like their gifts this year and I always love Christmas Dinner - yum Prime Rib and Yorkshire pudding!
Are you guys ready? what will your day look like from Christmas eve through Christmas day ? Will you go on a sleigh ride or go to Midnite services? will you go see lights or serve in a soup kitchen? Tell us about your celebration!!
By the way...
I love Christmas!!!

I am so excited too.
Christmas Eve we will be going to dh's mother's house and then to his dad's house to exchange gifts. Christmas morning we will open our gifts to each other, and dd will open hers from Santa here at home. Then, we head over to my parent's home for gift exchange there, and Xmas dinner.

I love Christmas too! Family services on Christmas eve and then open house at my house with my extended family. Christmas morning we open gifts, and get ready to go to an early dinner at mil's, and then on to my sisters house for another feast. I really didn't like this when the girls were small but, now that they are older we don't mind the hetic pace so much. I also really enjoy the week after when the pressure is off. DH always takes a weeks vacation, dd#1 is home from college, and dd#2 is on her vacation. So this gives our small family time to relax and just enjoy eachothers company.

I will work Christmas Eve until about 6:00pm, then come home to host dinner to my mom and step-dad. No other family around, just the five of us. We will open gifts after dinner, and that will be it. Christmas day is spent with DH and dd only. We will probably watch videos or play games, etc. Pretty low-key celebration here. I don't even know yet what we plan to eat, probably ham on Christmas Eve and leftovers on Christmas Day.

I normally love Christmas. This year however.
I just can't seem to get into it. We HAVE To go spend some time with Dh 's family and that is a BIG stress factor.
I started wrapping gifts today after school. I'm excited to see the look on their faces though.
I think for Christmas dinner we will have steak on the grill and back beans and rice and salad.

Christmas is quiet family time for us. We go to church Christmas Eve. Christmas day is usually just family. DH has almost always had to work except for Christmas Day. This year he was actually able to take some holidays so we are more excited about spending time together as a family than about gifts etc.

On christmas eve, the family will be making the christmas cookies this year, drinking a very special hot coco with whipped cream topping, and listening to christmas music. We will also tour our small village and see the lights and luminaries that light the blvd. The village sleigh and horses will take us on the tour which lasts about 30 minutes. We prepaid for this 6 months ago. It really takes you back in time
Christmas day will be wonderful with family together and everyone brings food. We graze all day and enjoy a crackaling fire in the fireplace and talk and sing and just have a jolly ole time!
