I made gingerbread heart cookies from Sara's recipe last week. I saved half the dough from that for my house. I'm defrosting it now and will make it this afternoon. If you show me yours I'll show you mine, but it will have to be tomorrow.

You're not allowed to laugh at mine. This is my first year of gingerbread housing developments.

I can't wait to see. I'm not very creative with that sort of thing, so love seeing others. I can't even put frosting on a cake without it looking like a goopy mess. lol

Can't wait to see too. I was talking with my sis today & she & her kids made one over the weekend and put it on a table to dry. Not too long after that they heard some hearty chewing going on...yep their dog Cleo was in gingerbread, gumdrop and icing heaven.

okay, you'd better all sit down for this. here is my gingerbread house. I can't get it to stand up. I had icing everywhere. I worked on it for about 20 minutes and refuse to waste anymore time on it. it's for the dogs!

Hey - Rhonda - I thought you were making a big stand up house - no way I can post ours now - by the way - the way you make the cookies stand is to "glue" it to a base- If you don't have cookie just use a cardboard base and use your "glue - powd. sug and water or milk and prop it with a toothpick - I cheat and "glue " mine to a cardboard house shape that I made in high school cuz I had too many collapse. But ours is 4 sides and a roof and a chimney made of four pieces. it is about 12" square and 10" high.
Our stained glass windows are made of melted Jolly Ranchers and are very heavy so they knock the house flat without a form to attach too.

Kimmee, I was TRYING to make a stand up house. I insist you present your stained glass windowed mansion. I have no idea how to do a house, I'm thinking now that having a base would be the best way to have the house stand upright. As I said before I didn't even work out before hand what roof and sides I needed. I didn't want to put too much work into it, I mean it is just for Rosie and Alice but I did think I could make it stand up.
