Default here are my frugal christmas cards

This year I decided to make my own Christmas cards and here is a photo of one of them. I made about 12 little pink scarves and glued one a piece onto a simple brown card, with matching envelope. They cost me about 10 cents each to make. I knitted the tiny scarves on toothpicks when I was at our store so lots of people looked at me doing it . I'm sure many of them thought I'd lost all my marbles. I'm pleased with them as I think they reflect how I feel about blatant consumerism now.

I really love those!! I love the way you have the little "knitting" set added to the card to reflect on your year.

I bet they are a hit!!

thanks everyone. Yep, they are a hit, everyone who has received one so far has phoned me to tell me how sweet they think they are.

If anyone wants to use any of my ideas that I post photos of, please go ahead and make it yourself. PM me if you need more instructions - I'm good at giving instructions. I'm not in the least bit selfish and I love to share my stuff. So even if you've made or bought your cards this year, keep this in mind for birthday cards during the year or christmas cards next year.

What weight of yarn did you use? Fingering or baby possibly?

Dee, I used a remnant ball of 8 ply baby wool that I bought at an end of winter sale for 90 cents. Knitting on toothpicks is quite easy when you get used to it. You should give it a go, Dee. If you are a good knitter, which I imagine you are, you could do awesome tiny work and put it on your cards.
