Smile We scared the neighbors- with cookies!

DH, DD, and I went door to door here in our cul de sac (3 houses besides ours so far) and delivered cookies to all of our new neighbors last night.

At the first house, nobody was home, so we left them at their front door.  Those people we talk to all the time, and they're really nice.

At the second, we scared the heck out of them-  LOL!  The lady comes to the door, peeks out the sidelight window with this scared look on her face, and then opens the door about two inches and says "yes".  I told her who we were and that we were bringing Christmas cookies to all the neighbors and then she relaxed and opened the door all the way.   She really had no idea who we were, though, even though she waves to us whenever we're outside.  The poor woman- I just wanted to be friendly, not to scare her!       (Of course, we went home later and wondered if she's had a bad experience or lived in a rough area before or something, but, considering as we were standing there holding cookies and with 1-year old DD in her Elmo coat, I didn't think we looked too scary!)

Anyways, at the third house, we had a nice little visit.  It's a couple our age, with a daughter a few months older than DD.  I think we'll definitely be seeing more of them!

Amy, that's so nice of you and your family to bring cookies to the neighbors. I can just imagine how "scary" the 3 of you looked standing out there with cookies!!!!

What a great way to get out and meet your neighbors and spread a little Christmas cheer.

I hope the lady was ok.

lol. That woman must have had a bad experience before. It's such a nice gesture to give Christmas cookies to neighbours. And you found some future friends - that's a great bonus.

That's a lovely thing to do Amy.....I'm sure the scared lady was fully recovered by the time she finished off those Christmas cookies
