I am wondering how many of us are preparing for the holidays now or have already started?

I started shopping for Christmas 2001 the day after Christmas 2000 Can't beat those after-Christmas sales! I've got about 1/3 of my shopping done.

How about you, Sara?

Dh is working on Thanksgiving.
He is home for Canadian Thanksgiving. (Oct 8th) *sigh*

As for holiday shopping..zippo prep over here. I am usually ahead of things, but not this year.

I have started to pick up pantry items, spices etc, so that the food aspect of it isn't such a harsh blow all at once though.

Not to mention all of my holiday decorations are still in NY. sniff sniff

I am happy to report that we are almost finished.
I have been buying my new/still in original package gifts from thrift stores and yard sales.

I buy gift cards for my nieces and nephews and did a lot of online shopping. I still have to buy for Gregg(aka hubby). As for anything else I don't bake much since there is no here but us to eat it and I DON'T NEED IT!! I do make a huge dinner for us on both Thanksgiving and Christmas day. Our families are 100's of miles away from us.

I have a lot of my shopping done. I was done this time last year. Just haven't been as many good online deals this year .Everybody in our family works strange shifts so, still have to figure out when and where the holiday dinners will be held. This year has gone so quickly! I can't believe it's time to start dealing with the holidays!!!

I also start shopping right after Christmas. I am in good shape. For extended family, I only need gifts for my father and father-in-law.
DH and I are not exchanging gifts, since we just got a new car. DS only wants a couple of computer games, so I am watching sales.
