Christmas tree(s)?
Are the Christmas tree(s) in your home fake, real, both fake and real, or do you even put up a tree?

We buy a small, live tree every year and plant it.

One real, purchased from one of two local tree farms (either our neighbor, if he has "bad" trees he can't sell at the nursery, or the mayor) and the rest are artificial. Yes, I said the rest. I go a bit overboard. I have one in each bay window, and a few smaller ones around the house. I am shooting for on in each room, even if it is only a foot tall.

We have two artificial trees. The small one we've had since our first Christmas after we were married. The full size we've only put up once, last Christmas. My sister got us a sample tree from Michael's after Christmas two years ago so it was free to us. I'd love to do real trees someday, though.

We have an artificial one that we put up but I think that this year we may have to purchase a new one or get a smaller one. Our new home has lower ceilings and I don't think it is going to fit this year.
I would love to purchase a medium size fiber optic tree. They are so pretty.

Artificial!
I rember having the chore of vacuuming pine needles when I was a teen.
Artificial is more frugal too!
One-time investment!

This is a two-edge sword of an issue.
I PREFER the smell and look of a real tree. And buying one from a local grower is good economics.
However, I like to put my tree(s) up early.
I don't like to vacuum up the trash from a real tree.
And I hate the idea of growing something to be cut down and then thrown away.
When I was a kid we rarely bought a Christmas tree -- only did so when we couldn't go cut our own. I have vivid memories of bringing home (150 miles) a cedar tree on top of the car from my grandparents farm. I still associate the smell of cedar with Christmas, and will cut a few branches for display just for the smell at Christmas time now.~~Jean~~
