Do you have 'celebration' meals?
Yesterday, both kids passed their 'deep water swim test,' which allows them to jump off the high board into the deep end of our local pool.
So we celebrated last night ... with bacon!

Congratulations to them!!! When mine were young I used to cook special meals to celebrate different things. I also used to celebrate holidays by using food coloring in the foods... Example green mashed potatoes for St Pats Day. Loads of fun

We have a Celebration Plate. It's a very colorful plate that I got at a thrift store (our regular dishes are white). I try to find a reason to use it at least once a week. Whomever has done a good job on something gets it. For example, dh for working a Saturday, dd for being especially helpful or well-behaved, a birthday, etc. I gave it to myself today because I spent four hours doing hard labor in the garden today.
