Gifts for a Family
For Christmas we usually give one gift per family (ex: uncle, aunt, and their two kids get one gift). We make it a gift that everyone in the family can use. Last year we gave movie baskets with popcorn, candy, and a month paid for Netflix. The year before that I think I did something similar (instead of Netflix it was a Blockbuster gift card or something).
So I want to give something different this year. All the families that we give baskets to have younger kids (not in high school yet). I can't think of ANYTHING!!
If anyone could think of any ideas I would really appreciate it!
Thanks!!

How about an ice cream sundae basket? You could fill it with sundae dishes or glasses, long spoons (to go with glasses), different kinds of sauce topping (chocolate, caramel, strawberry, etc.), variety of sprinkles, chocolate chips (and other kid pleasers like gummy candies, etc.), nuts, ice cream scoop, a jar of cherries, etc. You could include a gift card to a local grocery store so they could purchase the ice cream and whipped cream.

How about a snow themed basket?
Things like hotchoc. as mentioned before. That along with a saucer, snow block maker, a snowman kit (coal, hat, and fake carrot). All those would make for great family fun.

A memories basket=a disposable camera, a mini photo album, stickers etc.
Stationary basket= dollar store journal, crossword or word finds or notecards (or hm) stamps, pens for parents, coloring books and crayons for kids.

How about a "Framed Aspirational Photo"?
If you are aware of an individual family's "Dream" (ie. they may want to Travel) you could get a photo of them all together and cut & paste it to a Picture of their dream destination, then to start off the dream on the path to realization, you could also give them an Atlas
This is actually the basis of Fung Shui, to display your desires
It could work for other ideas too, like Space travel that kind of thing, it's a case of knowing if and what the family dream would be!

Depending on where everyone lives, you could buy them a years membership to the zoo, museum, etc. . .
Instant lottery tickets are always fun.

One year we did s'mores kits

I bought baskets from the dollar store and filled them with baggies full of large marshmallows (1 bag did 4 baskets), a few hershey bars, a package of graham crackers, wooden skewers, a small terra cotta 'saucer' and some tea light candles. I don't think the whole thing cost $5/each.
