Default easy stocking stuffer for kids

    crayon cookies:

take all the old, broken worn down crayons and sort them by color. fill a muffin tin with the broken crayons, either keep all the colors seperate or mix a couple of colors together. put the muffin tin in a 250 degree oven and let them melt. depending on how full you make the muffin tin, it can take 30 minutes to an hour. let the melted crayons cool until solid, then pop the muffin tin into the freezer for a few hours or over night. when you take the tin out of the freezer, they will pop right out.

i have found it works better if you don't line teh tin with muffin liners. the wax just soaks into the liners and makes a big mess when you try to peel the paper off. and they just pop right out if you put them in the freezer once they are solid anyway.
these are easy for little hands to grab and hard to break for those that don't know their own strength

My oldest daughter loves these. She thinks it's magic the way because she brings me the broken ones and when I get enough I make her a "new" special crayon. The way she goes though crayons it's a good thing too!

You can also make them with a cookie sheet and inexpensive cookie cutters in any shape you'd like. Hearts done w/ red or pink make good inexpensive valentines.
