    Default scented coasters

This is from the November 2001 issue of Family Fun magazine. The coasters are to be used with hot beverages (cocoa, coffee, hot tea).

    You'll need:

    Fabric scissors
1/4 yard EACH of printed fabric and tightly woven muslin
A 9x12-inch piece of felt (for padding and heat absorption)
    Tacky glue

You'll also need to mix together 2 T. ground cinnamon, 2 tsp. ground cloves, 2 tsp. ground nutmeg in a small bowl.

Cut out eight 5-inch squares from the printed fabric, four 4-inch squares from the felt, and eight 4-inch squares from the mslin. Place 4 of the printed fabric squares right side down on the table. Tope each one first with a felt square then with a muslin one.

Sprinkle a spoonful of the spice mixture on the center of each muslin square, the apply tacky glue along the edges of the muslin. Top with another muslin square, lightly pressing the edges together so they will hold. Next, apply glue to the edges fo the printed fabric that extend beyond the muslin. Top with another printed fabric square, again lightly pressing the edges together. Let the glue dry and the coasters are ready to use.

    Makes one set of four.
