When will you officially start your Christmas shopping?
I know that it is 5 months away, but Christmas is really just around the corner. I have been picking up a few things here and there-don't really have much, but still it is a start. Next month is when I plan on starting my Christmas shopping. In other words, I plan to really start looking for some good deals. How about you?

I was going to post this same question today LOL
I am usually DONE with my kids' shopping by this time, but this year money was super tight, and I couldn't start till now. We are cutting our list way back so will only need to buy for my girls, dh, and a handful of other people (my family and dh's will be drawing names this year).
I bought a couple of small things last month and will continue to keep my eyes open for deals for everything else.

Yikes Christmas shopping?? I always say to myself right after christmas next year I will start early and get it done by September but as usual I haven't even thought about it yet.. I should but.........I am usually doing it in Novemeber.... I make a lot of the gifts I give to family and friends and think I should be starting that also but the week of Christmas I am usually finishing it up
I just can't seem to get motivated unless I know I need to do it....

I started the day after Christmas last year! I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Christmas and enjoy shopping all year long - I watch for clearance items at places like Target, Ross, TJMaxx, Amazon, etc. I am probably halfway finished with my ds's shopping, but I haven't even started shopping for my dh yet because he can't make up his mind what he wants - I will start shopping for him very soon though. I love being finished early and spending the holiday season just baking and relaxing at home with my family.

I shop all year round for Christmas. If I see something on special that would be needed as a gift, I buy it. For my older kids, though, I kind of wait a month before Christmas...they change their minds so often, I wait to see what really important to them and then I check the bargains...

I shop for Gregg. my mom, his dad and that is it. I have 15 nieces and nephews and all of them are out of town. They are all at the age where they want to pick out their own clothes so it is gift cards for all. One trip to the store and I'm done. I buy them in October and for the others I get most of the stuff from catalogs since I have to go 39 miles to the mall.

I'm waiting for DH to start World War 3 with his family. He's fed up with the crappy gifts (I know this sounds bad, it's a long story). Last year his mother just gave him money. There's just no thought put into anything. When I find out who I have to shop for, I can start, although I usually pay for Christmas, and I'm not working now. Asking DH for money is like getting blood from a stone.

We decided that this year we would get family pictures done since we had our second (and last!) baby. We will probably go to the picture people or jc penney and get a lot for a package deal and then I will frame them and send them to loved ones. Not everyone will get the nice frames, just parents and siblings etc and I will make some frames with stuff from the craft store and put magnets on the back so people can put them on their fridge. We would just have wayyyyy too much to buy if we tried to buy for everyone. This way it is for the whole "family" to enjoy. My idea this year is probably to do black and white photos. We just had some done and we took our dog. They were so cute! Major shopping will be done for my kids and dh though. I might also make truffles and candy to send out. I took a cake decorating class last year and am into making candy and all that. Soooo that is probably what we will do.

I usually start my Christmas shopping for the next year the day after Christmas. I try to buy gifts all year long. I keep my eyes open for gifts, at a good price, and put them away. This year I am not as far ahead as usual. The good deals online aren't around like they used to be. I did get two pretty blouses for DIL from Blair online. They had a lot of cute things marked way down and free postage.

I have already started too! I pick up NEW items at garage sales all summer long. It is impossible to know what you will find, so I am always looking for a new deal!
