christian countdown

Santa's beard. Very cute.
http://kindergarten2.homestead.com/christmas.html
I make the second one each year. I have a bell cutout and add paper chains. My kids really enjoy it.
two countdown poems:
For bell
How many days till Christmas?
It's mighty hard to tell
Take off a link every night
When the Sandman cast his spell
And Christmas Eve will be here
By the time you reach the bell.
With candies
December 1st till Christmas
is the longest time of the year.
Seems as though old Santa
Never will appear.
How many more days till Christmas?
It's mighty hard to count-
So this little candy ribbon
Will tell you the exact amount!
Snip off a candy every night
When the Sandman casts his spell
And Christmas Eve will be here
By the time you reach the bell.
For Star
Each evening when goodnights are said,
Take off one link and hop into bed.
When only the star is left to shine,
When you will know it's Christmastime! If you'd like to help support Frugal Living by Sara Noel, my syndicated column, e-mail, write, or call the managing editor at your local newspaper and ask them to publish it in print or online. I picked up this cheap pocket calendar at the dollar store last yr. I think I'll add some sort of treat to the pockets this year for December. I've wanted to buy a nice pocket advent calendar, but never seem to get around to actually buying one.

Those are cute, kids love those added treats. Used to do the advent calendar with our kids and they had to take turns opening the windows.
