Will anyone go to a candlelight service on Christmas Eve?
This is one of my favorite things to do on Christmas Eve, is going to a candlelight service. I love when it's all black and members begin to light the candles. It is just magical.
Hopefully our weather will be nice so we can attend again this year.

I use to go every year, but haven't been in a long time. I'd love to start going again though.

Yes, usually to both services!
My children sing in the early service and my Dh usually plays piano at the midnight service often with one or more of my children playing on their instruments.
I don't know if Dh will play this year though. I think he will sleep the whole 2 weeks he has off.....he looks exhausted.

I went every year growing up (United Methodist) but I'm Southern Baptist now and they don't do them. ( Not around here, anyway) We went several years ago to this tiny little Methodist church a few miles from here. You've given me an idea, CJ, I think I'll go again this year. Thanks for the inspiration.

Yes we will go, ours is at 6:00 and then we will come home and do dinner and The Muppet Christmas Carol with the kids and maybe some of their friends. It's a tradition.

I'm going back this year!
I haven't been in about four years b/c of having very little ones at home and living way out of town, but I am going to go this year. In fact, I'm even singing in the choir again.
I love the magic of celebrating the real reason for the season!

Ya know...this thread has me thinking...when my kids were little, we never went because of all the "preparations" necessary for the next morning. Every year I regret that descision. Now that they are older, they have no desire to go and I feel the real reason for the season is lost on them
