    Default Christmas trees-real or artificial?

What kind of tree do you put up each year?  I have an artificial one that I have used for several years.  I used to do a real one but I decided that the wonderful smell was not worth the tons of fir needles in the floor or the sneezing and sniffling that came with it.

If you do a real tree, do you purchase the same type each year?

We have a new artificial one. I used the other artificial cone that I had for about 15 yrs. Will probably use this on for that long as well.

~48 yr. old sahw, livin' it up in our empty nest, smack dab in the middle of everywhere.~

We've done both over the years but I prefer the fake ones. I like the real ones the best but, dang, the mess! So, we're sticking with fake until insanity strikes once again.

    Fake for moi!

I like the reduced fire hazard and I also like being able to wash them after the season, before drying well and packing away for another year.

I finally got up the courage about 2 years or so back, and it took out all the dust on that tree and made it so much nicer.

Probably won't have to do it this year, but maybe next.

I thought about getting one someday all pre lit, then I realized if I wanted to wash it, I'd probably kill the thing, causing it to short out the next time I plugged it in.

so just the plain one for me, but a fake definitely

We usually use fake but I retired it last year. It was ugly. This year since we will be in the middle of packing up to move and I don't want to get all of my decorations out, I went out and bought a little Norfolk Pine (2-3 ft tall), put a string of lights, and a few mini red balls and that's gonna be about it this year. I'm not sure what we're gonna do next year.

Last year was the very first year that we put up a fake tree.......it is a 7ft pre-lit Noble and I love it!!! It takes 2 seconds to pull it out, pop it together and plug it in and we don't have to mess with lights!!!

For our family tree, always real, locally grown and bought, and mulched or into the neighbor's (nursery owner) "compost" pile.

The decorator trees are all fake.

We have a big fake one and a little one that the girls decorate. I am just too fire phobic for a real one.

Big fat huge fake tree for us. We got ours about 17 years ago when prices went through the roof for the big ones we liked to have. Love ours, it's like new & lives under the stairs in it's own little room when it's not set up and loaded with goodies that sparkle & shine.

We put up an artificial one --- I like to have it up for the month of December and a real tree won't last that long.

I grew up having cedar Christmas trees, and I miss the smell so now I cut a few branches of cedar and bring them into the house for a few days.
