Birthday Cake for Baby Jesus
Since I am now a Grandma, I have decided that I need to help ensure my DGD know the "reason for the season" So besides the Christmas story, the nativity set and a childs book of the manger scene, I have decided to have a birthday cake for baby Jesus on Christmas morning. My oldest DGD just loves cake and since she just turned two she can sing the happy birthday song. I am hoping to make it a new family tradition.
What do you all think? Anyone want to join me?

I think that's a wonderful tradition. We have a birthday cake for Jesus every year, too. My oldest grandson is 3, so he's old enough to understand this Christmas.

We been making a Happy Birthday Jesus cake for years. Ds loves to sing the birthday song to Him. We won't have one this year due to needing to not have any leftovers past Christmas day, but our pumpkin pie is going to be His happy birthday wish from us instead.

I've been planning to do this! My daughter is 2 and loves birthday parties. (She's never been to one outside our immediate family. LOL) I've been talking about how Christmas is Jesus' birthday and he wants us to give presents to each other. She will also be putting stickers on tiny bags and putting Hershy Kisses in them for important people in her life. So she can learn to "give" too.

Our church has a big Bd cake for Jesus every year at the Christmas pagent and Christmas eve after the service.
It brings smiles to my face just thinking about it..........
One year they had this HUGE sheet cake COVERED with candles and the men were lighting it in the foyer, getting ready to wheel in the cake as the children were finishing singing "Happy Birthday to Jesus".
WELL, the smoke alarms all went off!!!!! And the children all had this look of Terror on their face. They didn't know wether to run or stay put or what LOL.
The men were even funnier they had dish towels which they were waving and wacking at the smoke alarms
! Oh man, it still makes me giggle.
Thankfully, it wasn't in our NEW building because then the automatic sprinklers would have gone on too
!
I think a birthday cake for Jesus should be apart of Christmas. I think it is a wonderful idea.
