Default Went to our town's Christmas celebration

It was so nice. It was all in the one block area right around town hall. We parked at our church which is just a couple of blocks away and walked. It was cold here for us - nippy! We went and let the girls talk to Santa - he was at the fire station. We got there early and got to see him come riding in on the fire truck.

They had face painting and jugglers there as well as crafts for the kids to do. Then we walked to the car dealer where the youth choir from out church was singing. The car dealer passed out cookies, and they had a TV inside. Amanda and her little friend from church sat inside and watched Sponge Bob! LOL!

They had free pony rides, Mrs. Claus was telling stories at town hall, we rode the "train" and the girls went down the big slide. We went to the newspaper office where they got to write letters to Santa and had popcorn and hot cider.

We saw a bunch of friends from church there which was nice. We got McDonald's as a treat on the way home, and by the time we got to the house Amanda was out like a light!

It helped my Christmas mood some to see the girls have such fun and to be involved in a community event.

Cheryl, it sounds like you and your family had a great time. About a week ago, the town over from us (where I work) had a celebration with a parade, caroling on the court house steps. The ladies at the office (including myself) made cookies to pass out to everyone. We also had a gift certificate for Krogers, and gave away a drill. Many of the offices were open to the public, and giving away cookies and hot cocoa. It was FREEZING outside, but that didn't stop people from coming. There was several people in the parade I knew. My youngest ds and one of my best friends came along. It was really nice. I will do this again next year.
