My Christmas Card From My Dad :)
I will make this quick but I am just bursting with happiness
My dad remarried when I was 12 and I only saw him maybe 2 times after that. His wife didn't really care for me and I was not allowed to call, see him but I was allowed to write once in awhile.
His wife passed away 1 1/2 years ago now and yet I have still not called (just in case he still doesn't want me to) but I send him every year a card with the childrens pictures. He sends us a Chirstmas card every year and with some money in it always signed by his first name for Christmas over the past 8 or 9 years.
I received his Christmas Card and a letter 3 days ago now and he signed the letter Love Dad........I couldn't believe it, it was everything which I could do to hold back the tears of joy
He has not signed anything to me with Dad on it in almost 30 years. Here I am 40 years old and feel like a little girl again......I know that must sound odd but I have been waiting for this day for so long.
I don't know what he looks like today, I have pictures from when my parents married in 1963. I am his only child and he is 67 years old now.
Well I guess that this did turn out long but I feel a kind of peace which I have been longing for over the many years since he remarried.

It's amazing how few words spoken/written at just the right time by the right person can move you so. Sounds to me like it's time for you two to start a new relationship. Can't go back but you can go on...door's open

. All of my Letters in my Christmas Cards to him had always started with "Hi there" or "Merry Christmas".
Up until I was in my 20's I was always so bitter about it. I would ask him questions in my Christmas letter which he never answered . The only thing that has helped me is at that time I came up with the conclusion that; People can't help the way they feel, they just feel the way they do.
Thank-you all for the warm posts it means so much, other then my mother, dh, children and one friend through cyber space , I havn't shared this with anyone except you all here
Family is so important, dh and I do not have large families and time really is like a minute being magnified. I am so thank-ful for the time we all have with each other
.
Hugs,
Heather
