Question Is there anything you wish you hadn't spent your money on this Christmas?

I'm wondering if it was wise to get ds#1 a gameboy. I've already had to limit the amount of time he plays on it.

Anything you wish you hadn't bought?

This year I can say no to that one. Most everyone got GC. Those who didn't I just asked them what they wanted instead of beating around the bush.

I know what you mean! Boys sure do love those eletronic games. I was kinda concerned about ds #2, he got a small t/v and DVD player for his room. Christmas Eve I started to think what on earth are you thinking woman? I have been suprised that he hasn't been spending all his time in his room. If this should happen I will have to limit his time or remove it for awhile.
How long do you let your son watch t.v / or play electronic games?
    Just wondering.

I don't really think so, though I do many years wish I hadn't bought this or that. But when I really added things up, I didn't do too badly. All of DD's gifts, except her big gift, cost less than $25 total. And I don't regret her big gift, a toy pony she can ride, because she is really, really loving it, and it is probably the closest thing she will ever get to a real pet. Can't beat that at $50 (on sale.)

I got my BIL a shirt he probably won't ever wear. He's getting a GC next year.

Well, I got dh one of those "talking bucks". He loves it, which I am glad and knew he would, but oh my gosh, he plays with it all the time. It's actually kinda cute though!! So no, I guess I'm not upset I got it!! So ignore this post!!

my Ds would love a gameboy too, and video game console and and well.....not this year.

I regret not what I bought but where I bought it!

I bought Ds and Dd bike helmuts and I used a GC I was given. So I had to buy them at that store, but one of them was $10 (exact same one) more than at Canadian Tire.....I couldn't get around that one though because I didn't have the cash. It still bugs me when ever I look at that helmut.

I regret getting my 16yo DD an Tiffany's gift card. I felt so guilty after buying because it doesn't jive with me. I'm just not into jewelry and definitely not into overpriced pieces. I want to stop her from being attracted to expensive things. But it was her wish, not mine.
Off we trekked to Tiffany's to cash in the GC. Her eyes were gleaming!! She said it was the best day ever!!
She bought me a tea from Starbucks and bought herself a necklace with the gc.
She asked me which one do I like? and with my plain jane face, unadorned body- I said "the cheapest one". Then a snooty laugh came from the clerk. Hmm..
Then I said- "Geez, I really like the one at Walmart better!" Just to get their goat.
Anyway, it's not something I approve of- but she's a big girl and can decide for herself. I sure hope she continues to get good grades so she can go to college and earn a degree, make lots of money to support her lifestyle.
