Default How much did your (or your family's) Christmas outfit cost?

A frugal friend told me about the outfit her DD wore to a family gathering this Christmas Eve. $1 at Goodwill -- and it got lots of compliments.

    This Christmas, for church,

DH wore his ordered-from-the-catalog Lands' End pants and shirt. Since he wears them for work, he gets decent value for his $$$$.

DD#1 wore black velour pants ($1, garage sale) and a JC Penney shirt (about $15).

DD#2 wore a garage-sale sweater ($1) and a rayon skirt that came from my local thrift store's bag sale. (Let's say $2 total)

I wore a rayon dress from the bag sale. (Let's say $2.50)

One of three Shirts, which cost a total of $7
Plus velvet boots we already had The dress is green but not too Chrismas-y, so she can wear each piece outfit over and over.

    EF: $20.52

    Hmm
DH and I wore what we wear to church all year long. My skirt was from Goodwill and the shirt was Target. DH wears his to work all the time. Not sure the cost of either, but cheap I'm sure

Adam (13 months) wore pants that were an Easter gift (finally fit) from one Grandma and a vest sewn by another grandma and a turtleneck bought by that same Grandma.

Grace (2 1/2 yrs) wore a jumper that was sewn by grandma and matched her brother. Turtleneck and tights were from yardsales, shoes from Goodwill. I would guess $2-3 for her outfit.

    I wore:

black velvet pants- .25 from yard sale
Red chenille sweater- .25 from Salvation Army
black loafers- free from Meijer's shoe sale (bought work shoes, got the dress shoes free as they were the lesast expensive)

    Dd wore:

red lycra blouse- $2 from Goodwill
black leather skirt- $2.50 from Goodwill
black knee boots- $4 from Goodwill

This was the daddy heartattack outfit. Looked good (can't say it looked nice, as she looked rather ehm. . . grown up) but not too expensive for a 16 year old.

Dh and I just wore stuff from the closet.

However, I bought DD her first OWN Christmas outfit this year (most of her clothes are hand-me-downs from relatives.)

It was an absolutely adorable santa-suit dress, which I almost didn't buy, and which I wasn't sure about till I put it on her. She loved it, and everybody else loved it. I thought I might take it back the night I bought it, but once I tried it on her, I knew I wouldn't regret it one bit. It cost $16.

    Here it is:

PS- That is obviously not the hat that goes with that outfit. The belongs with a shirt she got, and she took her santa hat off and put on the scarf.
