kids hats were done with the knifty knitter. All the rest were done with dpn's. except the blue mittens, those were done with straight needles.

You are so talented Missy, I don't know how you do it. Great job and lucky family to be wearing those.

Very nice!
I'm pretty sure I am knitting-impaired. I can do just about any other crafty thing, but my Mom has tried to teach me to knit and it is always a disaster. I think you have to concentrate more than I am able. I can crochet because I can just yank it all out quickly if I've made a mistake, but knitting is another story....

I LOVE the fuzzy pink! Is that hard to work with? That furry fleece sure can be! (messy to cut out and hard to see where you are sewing)

Missy, they are fabulous! I wish I could knit mittens, hats and socks. It's one of the things I MUST learn. I can knit, but only in straight lines.
Missy, I know you're busy, but if you have the time, could you do a tutorial on mittens or socks? OR direct those of us who are less knit-friendly to a simple knitting site with those patterns. Thank you.

I love it all, but I especially like the pink fuzzy hat. You did that one on the knifty knitter too? What kind of yarn did you use?

Yeah the kids hats were knifty knitter. I forgot the name of the yarn i used for dd's hat, but i got it from Hobby Lobby. They had a bin at the end of a few asiles that had tons and tons of new yarns on display. Next time i get there, I will try to remember to get the name. She wears it ALL the time. Looks alot like a little strawberry on her head...'cept it's pink.
Rhonda, i'd love to! I can't do it right now, but once the kids settle down from the holidays, I would love to. If you are looking for something sooner than I can get to doing a tutorial, the book "The Complete Idiots Guide to Knititng and Crochet" (nice name huh??) helped me in a huge way. But I would love to show how to do mittens and socks once the kids cooperate!
Marcia, DPN stands for double pointed needles. They are pointy at both ends instead of having a point at one end and the stopper thing on the other end as the straight needles do. When you do knitting of tubular items...socks, sleeves, mittens, etc...they come in handy.
