    Question Children's # of gifts?

When giving gifts for a holiday, do you give your children the same amount of gifts or same cost in gifts?
Curious how much is averagely spent or how many presents are averagely bought for holidays.

    **edited to add the following**
Also, please add if the children are receiving gifts from other relatives, as well. Like in our case, gifts are only given from Gabe and myself and Santa. lol

We only have one child - this year we will spend roughly $200 on him for Christmas (last year it was about $250). I know that probably sounds like a LOT, but we don't buy him very many things throughout the year so we go all out at Christmas. Pretty much everything he's receiving this year could be labeled *educational* and a lot of it we'll be able to use with our homeschooling (like casette/book combos, books, etc.).

I try to do both. I like for the $$ to be the same and the amount of gifts to be as close a possible. If I need to I fill in with a few things from the dollar store.

Our kids get unwrapped gifts from Santa, wrapped gifts from us and gifts from grandmas and grandpas.

Both same cost and same number, though I don't think it will always be that way.

They receive gifts too from 2 sets of grandparents, 2 uncles, and 2 aunts.

With having 6 kids and 8 grandchildren, we have to limit the amount of money we spent on them. We make many (almost all of them) of our Christmas gifts. My dh dows scrollsaw work and I sew and quilt.

This year, all their gifts will be made except for 1 and they will have a choice as to which one they get. For the grandchildren I will be making pajamas and purchasing them good quality books.

Our 6 children received nothing from grandparents or relatives.

We have 3 boys and they do get the same # of gifts. The dollar amount between the gifts does very as they get older. Sometimes I tend to go overboard and buy way too much for them, but I love to watch them open them all. They still get Santa gifts even if the oldest is 14. I told them when they stop believing then they will not receive anymore Santa gifts, so they try to believe...lol!!

    They also get presents from:
    4 Grandmothers & Grandfathers
    2 aunts
    1 uncle

So they get plenty!!! More than enough!!
