Do You Put Tinsel on Your Tree?
I used to until the cat ate a piece and I had to spend 2 hours at the vet waiting for it to pass without cutting his insides to shreds.

Yes but only use 1/4 of a box, just enough to make it sparkle here & there. Thanks for the heads up about cats & tinsel. Glad your kitty is ok.

Never ever ever. I can't stand the stuff. My mom used to put it on her trees. It stuck to EVERYTHING but the tree
I'd have to have my friends check out my clothes/hair before going to class because 10-20 strands would invariably static cling to me on the way out the door. We'd be finding strands of it EVERYWHERE for months after Christmas.
Hate it!

No, too dangerous. I'm going to try ribbon this year. I got 4 huge spools of beautiful gold and red wired ribbon from the fabric store for .99 last year, so we'll see how that works out.

I love the look of it (done right) but we don't because of the kids & the fact we use an artificial tree. It's NOT fun to take off!

I'm wiht Heather. Mom used to gob the stuff on the tree. I like a more old fashioned looking tree. My cat won't eat the stuff (hasn't been interested in 10 years.. I"m not worried) but if I can help it he won't have the opportunity just because I think the stuff is so messy and tacky.

We don't because we have 2 cats and I think it makes too much of a mess.
When I used to use it, I'd be cleaning up tinsel in July! LOL

I'm not sure if I am thinking of the same thing. I thought tinsel was the strands of shiney garland that you wrap around the tree. I don't use it, just because I don't like it, personally. The other thing that I think you all are talking about, we call them icicles. And I don't use those because I don't like them either. LOL!
