when do gifts go under your tree?

I'm always impressed with families that place wrapped gifts under the tree early. We don't place gifts until Christmas Eve. I sneak them under the tree and am typically awake until almost 2am Christmas Eve. Most of the time I am even wrapping on Christmas Eve too.

I keep thinking one of these years I'm going to get busted. lol

I love this time of year and am excited and looking forward to it all.

My parents never put anything under the tree until we were in bed. The reason? We never had much, but waking up on Christmas morning....it all looked like so much and was such a surprise! I've always done the same. But now that the kids are grown, I put out a few, the majority are saved till the morning when everyone is here.

We always put presents under the tree Christmas Eve - mostly because of our cats - they love to open presents!

I don't place gifts under the tree until Christmas Eve (once the kids are in bed and asleep), unless they are sent from Grandparents/Great-Grandparents.

I tried to put gifts under early but my dh got in to them so i am not putting nothing under the tree till christmas Eve.

I usually put out all the presents the grandparents, friends, and other relatives send (maybe a few odds & ends); but the bulk goes out after the boys are in bed on Christmas Eve. I also fill the stocking then.

Presents for the kids are put there on Xmas eve but gifts for family members, etc are put there whenever they are wrapped.

I put presents under the tree as I get them wrapped. I've never wrapped the gifts from Santa, I just put it out after they go to sleep. Yes, I still do Santa and my girls are 17 and 16. LOL!

Same as you, Sara. Everything goes out on Christmas Eve after the kids go to bed. I'm often wrapping a few last gifts that would have been mangled had I wrapped them then packed them away. It's a loooong night. I'm thankful we don't have anything that has to be assembled

It depends when i go shopping. This year it is done and the presents are under the tree. I have 2 grandsons and they search the tree every time i have them and I love this. I do try to save one or two for the last minute of excitement.

Add me to the list as putting the presents under the tree when I know my boys are sleeping..My mom never had any presents under the tree till christmas morning either..and we never opened any presents on christmas eve..heck I thought everybody did the same thing as my mom and was totally shocked when my first christmas with my future inlaws use to open a couple of presents christmas eve and I was 19yrs old at the time..LOL..

Everything goes under the tree as it gets wrapped. Santa brings his in the middle of the night - there is not room for Santa under the tree, his gifts go in different areas of the room designated for each child.
