Is your decorating done?
I actually had a nightmare about my decorating last night... lol... I suppose analysing this one will tell you a lot about me. I dreamt that I was sitting in Christmas Eve mass, only I couldn't concentrate, because I knew I had to go home and do ALL of the decorating before morning. (It probably will make more sense if you know that I go all-out for Christmas-- seven trees, outside lights, a village, two nativity sets... etc! I LOVE Christmas!) I woke up wondering what day today was and if I had time yet to get the trees up before Christmas... lol.
Normally, my decorating is done the weekend of Thanksgiving. This year, though, I hosted a bridal shower & was supposed to have a Thanksgiving dinner here that Sunday (dinner wound up being cancelled due to a funeral), so I didn't get a chance to do the Christmas decorating. So, finding time to get the trees up has been on my mind... although, based on that dream, it must be bothering me more than I'd realized.
I'm planning to start today, and hopefully when DH has a day off later this week we can get out the bigger trees and the outside lights.
So, anyways, is YOUR decorating done?

I have candles in the windows. I am working on my wreaths that I hang on the outside windows. I need 11. I have 3 hanging up. LOL. I am making my own bows for the wreaths. Cheaper to buy the ribbon than buy the bows. I got the ribbon at the after Christmas sale! I have 2 more wreaths ready for DH to hang. So that will be 5. Six more to go. LOL! I do not have my tree up yet and DH needs to put the icicle lights on the house. I have two lighted reindeer for outside that DH needs to put out. (DH is behind isn't he? JK) Then I do a few other decorations inside that I haven't gotten done yet either.

I usually do it the day after Thanksgiving, but this year is busier so it is a work in progress....every day I unpack a few more things, or hang something, etc... makes it not so overwhelming. I hope to be completely done by my Christmas Eve gathering.

All of the decorating is done inside and outside, but we still have to go and chop our x-mas tree down and decorate it. We are planning on chopping it this week. It is a good time.

I haven't even started. Typically we decorate the day after Thanksgiving, but I've been painting our great room and decorating is impossible until after that's finished. I hope to get the painting finished this week, and then decorate next weekend.

All I've done is put my dining table centerpiece on the table, put my table covering on the small table in the corner of the diningroom & put out my Yankee candle Christmas candles. I'm so bad because I've had put up decorations on my to do list for a week now!! I really need to get it done this week!!!

Ours is all done

The outside: 2 ft wide wreath on the second floor, blue spruce w/ colored lights, white icicles on the porch roof, color lights on the porch railings, my small wreath under the mailbox, small icicle lights in the downstairs front windows, and two 2ft white lighted christmas trees at the bottom of the stairs. The inside: the tree, the nativity scene, all of my snowmen, my Christmas linens/towels/rugs, the snowflake lights in the Kitchen window, the (colored) lighted garland going down the stairs railing, the stockings on the mantle, the (white) lighted garland on the mantle... It's all done.
Dh was supposed to take the boxes back upstairs this weekend and didn't. That's all that is left to do.

I'm working on it! We just got trees this weekend. We go up each year and cut our own (not at a tree farm) and that takes a whole day as it is a two hour drive. So, one for the kitchen (dh put it in an old crock for me) that gets decorated with *kitchen stuff*...cookie cutters, tea strainers, old spice tins, anything metal, shiney, and kitchen related. One very tall and skinny tree in the entryway...we usually do this one red, white and blue in honor of dd's (and her SO) military service. And one in the family room that has all our family ornaments. Plus, I do three little artifiical trees in the living room, garland and lights and *stuff* on the banister. I use old sleds a lot....above the outside entry, at the top of the stairs...Dh put lights on all the outside trees in front (three very large spruce trees) and the dogwood near the entry. Also, we do greenery and lights around our large log pillars out front.
However, on Saturday night, I was messing with the lights I was putting above the kitchen cabinets, and I fell!!! I stepped back but missed the chair I was using. I stepped on the corner and it flipped me backwards and I landed in a heap across the room :-( I was pretty sure I broke something, but miraculously, I was just badly bruised...especially my right foot. It's a lovely shade of purple!!! I must have tumbled and hit the (granite) counters, because the backs of my arms are bruised, and I broke a few dishes that were in the sink....
Did I mention that Dh's office party is here next Saturday and I still have a tone to do?!?!!?
