Looking for a tasty Christmas dessert recipe
My whole family will be getting together at my brothers house on the 23rd for Christmas for the first time in years (I'm soooo excited
) Anyway.... I was asked to bring one of the desserts. Does anyone have a recipe that they'd be willing to share with me that's not too time consuming, but tasty & festive looking?

One of our favorites is Cran-Raspberry "Mousse".
1 can jellied cranberry sauce, mashed
1 box raspberry jello
1 tub cool whip (not fat free)
Prepare jello as pkg directions instruct. When it is soft set, after about 2 hrs, stir in the cranberry sauce and the tub of cool whip. Mix until all is pink. Return to refrigerator and let set the rest of the way.

~That's so weird, Heather. I was gonna suggest almost the same thing. I take a cooked and cooled angel food cake and cut it into 3 layers. I mix soft set strawberry jello with sliced strawberries and cool whip and put it it between the cake layers. Put a few pretty mounds of plain cool whip on top with more sliced strawberries. Then refridgerate a few hours to set the jello. I usually make this in the summer, but it is really pretty and light and festive enough looking for Christmas. And a nice change from heavy and too sweet pies , candy and cookies.~

I'm not sure I can describe this well. It's a brownie Christmas tree.
You bake brownies in a 9x13 - inch pan. When cooled, turn out on a board and cut - (this is the part I'm not sure how to describe) You'll make 2 cuts, one from each corner of the short end to the middle of the opposite short end. You'll have 3 triangles -- one large one, and 2 small ones that have right angles. Now place the the two side pieces together on a decorated board to form a triangle identical to the larger one. Meaning-- place the long , uncut edges together. Spread chocolate frosting on this. Then top with the other triangle brownie piece. Make a chocolate glaze (thinned frosting or make your own from a favorite recipe) and spread evenly over sides and top of brownie torte. Immediately decorate the top with chocolate star candies and candy coated chocolate pieces (M & M's).

You can make a triffle by layering brownie, strawberries and whipping cream. We made this last year and it was delicous, and took under 30 minutes.
Here is a link to some really great Christmas ideas. I think I am going to try to make the towering tree cake for Christmas Eve.

Heather, the mousse sounds great! We're having a Christmas party this Saturday, and I think I might add it to the menu.

One really easy and tasty concoction (which I don't know the name for) has only 3 ingredients.
1 small box French vanilla instant pudding (made according to package directions)
Graham crackers
Chocolate frosting ( premade, tub type)
Alrighty get out your 8 x 8 pan. Cover bottom with sheets of graham crackers, break em to fit.
Spoon some pudding over the crackers, spread it around cover them good.
Keep layering crackers and pudding, end with crackers
Frost crackers with chocolate frosting. Refrigerate at least 6 hours before serving. ( I whip it up the night before)
Kinda reminds me me of Bostom cream pie....or eclairs. Anyways, fast and easy.
