We do about the same thing. We have sandwiches and other finger foods. Just sit around and snack. We will go to the candlelight communion at our church tonight around 6. It is drop in communion. Our family meets there and we all take communion together.

Nothing special here, although we did make a bunch of beef jerky yesterday and I made some bean and corn relish and I had some of both for lunch. I think I'm going to make tortellini for dinner tonight. Dinner for tomorrow night will be shrimp scampi.

I made a pot of green chili and some refried beans for burritos for tonight's supper. We will be heading for my parents home in the morning to spend Christmas day. Christams supper will be baked ham, potatoes, homemade rolls (I'm making these), cranberry salad and green beans.

Mom still bakes over a dozen different kinds of cookies. She starts in Nov. and freezes everything. When we go home Christmas night we get a wonderful platter of cookies to take home with us.

    Merry Christmas to everyone.

We have homemade tamales, rice and beans. After we eat dinner, then we celebrate two birthdays and open Christmas gifts from dh's family and then we have homemade cookies for dessert. Last year dh and I slipped away to candlelight church service, but it felt really rushed to do that, so we will not do this year.

We have had a strange assortment of foods today. It started with Jewish Coffee cake for breakfast with mamosas Followed by nachos with cheese dip and homemade guacamole, cherry cheesecake, along with fudge and cookies. We opened our immediate family gifts and are now watching Superman Returns. Tomorrow we will be having my parents, Barry's mom and brother, my sister and us again for Turkey, dressing, mashed potatoes, gravy, salad, beans, pumpkin pies, pecan pie, toasted coconut cake, whipped cream and iced tea to drink.

~48 yr. old sahw, livin' it up in our empty nest, smack dab in the middle of everywhere.~

This year we're not doing anything. We are keeping everything simple/normal. Tomorrow we'll do the family thing.

We also have snacks (crackers/cheese/sausage, veggies with dip, dill dip with bread etc...) and usually buy a meat and cheese plate and rolls and have sandwiches. This year we had lasagna instead of the sandwiches though. We leave the big meals for Thanksgiving and Easter. Oh and mom makes her Homemade egg nog SOOOOO much better then store bought. Just got home and I am STUFFED!

My son and his family came over tonight to have our Cristmas. I cooked:
2 Pork loins that I injected with garlic and herb sauce, Mashed Potatoes, Mushroom Gravy, Corn, celery bread, Gren Salad, and cookies. Tomorrow, I'll make HM Cinnonman Rolls for breakfast, we'll open presents, than I'll make 2 pecan pies to take to my parents house @ noon. We'll eat there then come home with left-overs for upper.

We don't really have a set menu, for instance tonight we had manwiches, baked potatoes and corn on the cob. When I was in school & before I married Joe and was at my mom and stepdads, we would do finger foods and appetizer type items such as, chicken tenders, wings, jalapeno poppers, peeled shrimp, cheese sticks, sausage balls.....etc.
