I have made these for a couple of years now and have had many compliments, they are a very frugal craft..
You need:
White paint,
Empty can, (any size you like)
paper, printer, print or card program,
clear coat spray or lacquer (Clear wallpaper paste can also be used.... If you use it you won't need the glue)
White glue,
Nail and hammer,
piece of wire for handle
Punch a hole in the can, on opposite sides of the top of the can for the handle. Paint the outside of the can white ( White will make the edges of your white paper disappear)
Print your label for the can, I used print Master Gold, but a card program will work too. When I do my labels I put snowman or Santas on them and a Holiday recipe. Some I did with cookie recipes (These worked great for cookie tins) and some with "Snow Ice Cream" recipes on them. I made them in the size I needed for the can. Cut to size and glued it on the front of the can. (press down on the label to get it in the creases of the can, this will give it a painted on look) Lacquer over the label to protect the label and give it a sheen. Put the wire handle thru the holes and curl ends( be careful to curl them up so they won't scratch anyone) I have written about the clear wallpaper paste before, I love it !! It is inexpensive and works so well.... I use it in place of "Modge Podge" It works just as well or better and is a fraction of the cost.....
Wrap items in tissue and place in the can for a unique wrap...
