where do you keep the gifts you've bought?

when you shop throughout the year, where do you keep them until christmas?
do you keep a list of what you have bought and for whom?

right now i have a few things on the top shelf of my closet and some more in a rubbermaid tote. the kids go back to school on tuesday and i want to get everything together. just wondering what everyone else does to stay organized.

I have a gift closet and I also hide the children's gifts in the attic or garage where (I hope) they can't find them!

I have no one to hide things from, so I just keep them in a Rubbermaid in the storage closet. I keep a list on the computer of what I've bought for whom, and what I still need to buy.

I have a storage room. I store gifts in totes, and I definately keep a list, or I'd never remember what I have.

I have rubbermaid totes out in the garage where I stash the gifts.& I keep a list of who gets what.

In the laundry room I have one wall that is all shelves and I keep them there. However, the gifts I keep there are normally not Christmas gifts. They are birthday, wedding, baby gifts etc...I do the majority of my Christmas gift shopping the day after Thanksgiving.

I have this metal 2 door (the doors slide from left to right) that I keep all the goodies in, no one looks in it since it's right next to my computer... plus they know if they touch my cabinet I will find out and all heck will break loose, lol

Well, I used to put them in the back of my very deep/dark master closet...but it's been found out.

Now everything goes up in the attic...the kids don't go up there. Dh's gifts go under my dresser or under the bed. He never looks for gifts. And on the flip side, he "hides" mine where I can find them without even looking. Like on the shelf above my clothes ...not even in a bag or covered or anything

I hate that.

We have a small camping trailer that we close up after Labor Day.
I store all of my xmas gifts in there. Nice and dry, plus the door has a lock.
I cover the windows with cardboard to protect the curtains and blinds from sun damage anyway, nobody can peek inside.

I don't have kids.......but last year my neighbor kept her gifts in my closet : )

Most of it I keep in my closet, but if there is something that I don't want to risk the kids seeing I take it to my mils. I have a running list of what I hope to get everyone so when I get it I mark it off and add other items to it if I got a good deal. I also to wrap as I buy, that helps keep the kids from snooping.

sounds like a few of us use totes. i don't have the closet space i used to have, and we don't have an attic. i'll have to get another tote i think once i find more things for ds. thanks for sharing ladies.

Since my boys are grown and moved out -- I keep misc. gifts in their old closet.

Deana and dh's gifts I hid in the root cellar (no chance of them ever going there).

I keep my gifts under my bed or out in the shed. I also make a list of what and for who I got the gifts for.

i keep mine in a box on a shelf in the storage room of the basment. i keep all my all year gifts there as well and DH's gifts i usually keep in the back of my wardrobe or in the basment behind the christmas decoration box (its huge about 4 ft by 2.5 ft)
