gift ideas for preschool teacher
my son just started at a preschool 2 days a week in a daycare center environment. he has a personal teacher then there are 4 cottage preschool teachers and an aide in the evening. i want to get something because his teacher is really nice but don't want to exclude cause the other teachers all have a hand in his day to day learning as well. do you think a baked good for the break room or a breakfast (like a bagel/ muffin basket) or one of the those fruit bouqets is appropriate?
its tight this year so i have only like $20 to devote to this. its a pretty well funded school so supplies are not an issue.
any other suggestions?Reba

I work in an elementary school and it is always nice to get something like that. The bagel/muffin basket is very nice. You could also maybe do a tray of a few different bakery items like the small round danish (thats what I like!) plus a few other little things, that way they have a choice but you are not buying a ton of things and you can pick and choose what you think they will like. You said that there are 6 people so you really don't need a lot, just enough for them to have one or two things. That would be a great treat that they wouldn't normally get for themselves.

Teacher's appreciate most anything a family takes the time to appreciate them with. A heartfelt note is always great to receive!

At our school all of us just LOVE to get food!
I think it's very sweet of you to do this.

When I worked at a daycare, some of the parents would give an individual gift to the primary teacher of their kid as well as bring in baked goodies for all the rest. I appreciated anything anybody wanted to do for me.

At the preschool I worked at baked goods in the morning were always welcome. One of our families owned a bakery and brought stuff from time to time. It's nice because it's consumable and thoughtful!

We have done gift certificates for the local Tim Hortons, or Personalized Christmas ornament.s I make mine, but you could get some at the dollar store witha fine tip paint pen and write their names. Baked goods are always appreciated. we had a phenomenal teacher for dd8 in K. And I wrote a letter for him. He cried, and I got a hug and dd got hugs and kisses. We added a little gc in there too. But the card meant the most.

The breakfast basket sounds great, but be sure to include non-sugary things for those that may be on a restricted diet. Maybe put some bagels and a thing of cream cheese and a couple of those small jellies?

Baked goods sound yummy. Also, at the dollar store near me, they have deliciously scented hand cream as well as hand sanitizer--a necessity for most teachers.

Perhaps a coffee mug from the dollar store with various homemade mixes? Soups, cake in a mug, coffee, teas, etc. (I personally buy the mugs at yard sales and thrift stores for pennies)
baked goods are nice, but at that time of year, people tend to get inundated with goodies -- I generally save my baked goods for the first week of January. They are back to school and things are sort of in a slump. They really appreciate the pick-me-up then.
