Default Making Craft Kit for Gift

Would like to make my nephew (almost 7) a craft kit for Christmas. Looking for projects & supplies to put together in a "box" to help get him started. Found a few projects on Michael website, but would love more.

Supplies I'm thinking of using: pompoms, wiggly eyes, pipe cleaners, foam shapes/stickers, beads, yarn/ribbon, scrapbook papers/card stock, markers, punches, scissors, glue & tape. What do you think? And would he need a lot help making projects? Ok... I admit I'm lost when it comes to this sort of thing, but think he would enjoy this as a gift & get a lot out of making things himself!

Check out the making friends website (just google making friends crafts) and you'll find lots of craft projects for kids. Also check out Pack-O-Fun. It's a craft magazine for kids (they also have a website). You might add an issue to the box....maybe even a subscription.

don't forget that he will probably come up with ideas on his own. i'd include a few ideas for him and also include things not used in those ideas. he'll have a blast working on the projects and coming up with his own. dd is 9, but has always been creative. she figured out how to make little houses using sticky back foamies in basic shapes. i have a whole village on my desk.

I love this idea (I have used it for a couple "big brother/sister" (when a new baby is born/ adopted) gifts). It has always been a big hit. I have never included instructions for crafts before...never thought of it since most of the kids I've given these to can not read yet. I hope he LOVES IT!
