    Default My Christmas This Year!!!

    I am so excited I have to share...

    My brother-- $40 gift card (got free when I purchased tires for my car this year) and a screwdriver set I got for free from buy.com!.....so $0

    My SIL-- Bubble bath from Victorias Secret (free with coupon) and got 2 brand new tins from thrift store that I will fill with cookies... So $2

    Nephew-- V-smile toy, and Thomas Flashlight....$20
    Niece-- Animal Alphabet toy, and small baby....$16

    My brother-- Gift basket full with BBQ sauces, rubs, spices, jerky, cheese, and $10 gc to blockbuster ( got free from survey site).....$10 for food

    My daycare kids-- free items from workshop I attended ( empty books to write their own, art projects, crayons) and a few art supplies I bought ....$7

    My swap friend-- Bathsoap, lotions, skewers, perfume, xmas socks ( got all of it free through out the year some how!) ....$0

    My swap children--Stacking infant toy, and bead set for necklaces....$8

    My online Swapper-- Odds and ends plus shipping...$19

    My ex from the kids--- 2 bears shirts....$30
    My mom--earrings (nbc.com sale $5), cookbook (free), lotion (free bathbody works)...NEED TO FIND SKILLET!.....so far $5

    Bags, wrapping paper, xmas cards, tape.....$5

    Total for all that is $123!!!! I am so excited I usually spend $50 on each person, but this year I had found few freebies, and took advantage of some things.

    The only people I have left to buy for are my own 2 kids. So far I am doing well with them...

    DD5- misc jewelry ($5), victorias secret dogs (free) , a mini greenhouse(free), 15 polly pocket things and polly pocket carrying case ($5 for taxes and $5 for carrying thing)..Total so far.....$15

    DS9- 3 books($14), a mini greenhouse (free), a stopwatch ( free), a outdoor lacrosse game (NIB from thrift store $4). Total so far...$18



    What deals have you found or gotten for Xmas!!??!

    I haven't really found any deals. My kids are grown, no grandkids so I'm doing gift cards and a book or daily calendar. You, on the other hand, have done GREAT!

    a $40 disney princess cash register for $15
    a $40 baby doll care center for $25
    a $70 MP3 video player for $20
    a $100 stand mixer for $50
    4 leapster games usually $26 for $15
    a $15 elmo sweatshirt for $6
    a $20 DVD for $6
    a $15 DVD for $4
    a $19 board game FREE (buy 1 get 1 free)
    got 3 board games usually $12 each for $7 each

    I think i've done rather good

    Wow this is my list:

    DH - Diesel gift set - FREE I swapped with a friend for some of my makeup (Saved $65) = $0

    DS1 - 3 Gap & Polo Collar shirts ($4.50 - NWT at the thrift shop), socks ($3), underwear ($4), toothpaste ($1) toothbrush ($1) = $13.50

    DS2 - $30 GC to Champs (free), socks ($3) underwear ($4), toothpaste ($1) toothbrush ($1) = $9

    DD's (4) - Makeup and bath and body gift sets ($0), I swapped these with a swap friend for makeup

    DD - Gloves ($1), Ipod ($0) (Another swap), BNWT 3 Jeans and 6 Shirts at the Thrift Shop ($10), Makeup Items ($5 - from the $ Store), Nintendo DS Game - Sims 2 ($0) (Yep, another swap) = $16

    Mom - Makeup I swapped ($0) = $0

    Step Father = $5 mens Old Spice gift Set = $5

    Step Daughters Boyfriend/Husband (2) ($15) for both (Hat and t-shirt combo and Old Spice Gift Set) = $15

    Grandson - $6 - $2 truck made in USA, Fisher Price Toys BNIP ($2), Portable Video Player ($2)

    Grand total so far: $64.50 for 13 people... YAY!

    I should also mention that all the gift bags I got last year with presents are being reused this year for theirs.

    WOW! You and Tracy have both done great! I have a lot to learn from you guys.

    I'm doing "okay". Decreased the spending budget in a MAJOR way, and shopping for less people. For next year, though, I plan to start right away... by thinking ahead, maybe I can save lots and still have nice gifts to give.

    Ds #1 - solar lights (free with GC earned online), new cell phone - free with rebate, renewed subscription to "The Mother Earth News" $10 on special, shake flashlight set $4 (has 2 flashlights)

    DIL #1 - sweater (handmade, with yarn I got free, but it's her favorite color - she actually saw me working on it once, and kept feeling the yarn, etc.), several cookbooks from Taste of Home - $5 each, blouse $0.79 on sale from Sears online a while back, new type of Sorry game $1.99 on sale

    Ds #2 - solar lights - free with GC earned online, shake flashlights (same set as for ds#1), we're copying all of our old home movies and his dance recitals tapes (he's a Marine and going overseas shortly), new Scrabble game $1.99

    DIL #2 - handmade cami, several cookbooks from Taste of Home, sale purchased tote bag and matching duffle bag $4.99, B&BW GC

    Dd - (here's my big expense, but it's her last year at home, and she has some much needed items) Bari sax $424, laptop computer $399, misc clothing from Sears sale .24 - $1.69 ( she's got several tops, cami's, skirts, slacks for college next year), handmade shrug, quilt

    my mom - nightgown $3, fleece blanket $4.99

    MIL - bird feeder $4

    neighbors, dance teacher, etc. $5 candy dishes from Lenox

    Wow you all did wonderful. The best I have to offer is a camping lantern for son in law I paid $5 on clearance and, it normally sells for $25.
    I also bought DD#2 a pair $90 boots for $30.
    Everything I have bought so far has been on sale but as far as really great deals? Not really.

    wow! you guys have done FANTASTIC!!!

    it's offical, I'll start christmas shopping for 08' the day after Christmas this year!

    I think I did rather well this year, but with 11 kids (not including our two) plus two sets of parents and a few others to buy for, I always wonder if I could have done better .
