Question about Makeing appelsauce orniments?

I want to make applesauce orniments and I have made some dough useing the method of adding glue. BUT my dough is too sticky. The directions I have found on the net are all so different. Does anybody have a tried and true method? One said to drain the applesauce first ?

If it's too sticky, try adding cinnamon. I have a recipe somewhere around here, I will look for it and post later.
